Our Vines

California’s Mendocino County is a quintessential location for Elkfield vineyards. Our family vineyards are located at 1,800 feet above sea level surrounded by the Mendocino National Forest, Cow Mountain, and vast wildlife. This elevation combined with multiple micro-climates, abundance of soil varieties, and Biodynamic® practices create a passageway for the vines to harness valuable nutrients to the grapes formulating an unparalleled fruit filled with boldness, complexity, and spice.

Mendocino County is one of the most diverse wine regions of California. It is noted for its distinctive Pacific Ocean coastline, Redwood forests, and mountain terrain. Found in the eastern corner of the county, our appellation is warm and dry with a coastal breeze creating the perfect atmosphere for Boudreaux and Burgundy varieties, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Pinot Noir, manifesting natural acidity and timeless flavors.
